ALLSOPP HELIKITES SKYHOOK UAV
The latest Military aerostat for photography, video,
radio, position marking and towing.
|
The revolutionary Allsopp Helikites "Sky-Hook"
aerostat uses a combination of both helium and wind to provide
exceptionally reliable lifting up to 2000 meters in wind speeds of nil
to 30 m.p.h., at a fraction of the cost and trouble of other methods
and using minimal helium compared to normal lighter-than-air designs.
"Sky-Hooks" can be stacked one above another to multiply
their lift. Also they can easily pull objects or sensors over
difficult terrain and water with the operator staying at a distance. |

Allsopp Helikites Ltd believes that both tethered
and free-flying UAV`s will be used by all sides in future conflict as
this is the only way to fully realize the potential offered by this
new branch of warfare. Proper control and data reception of low level
mobile UAV`s is only possible if there is a high level relay station
to give good line-of-sight radio reception to the vehicle. A tethered
aerostat is preferable for this job because it is more reliable, easy
to use, less vulnerable, longer lasting, cheaper and can have its
transceiver powered from the ground to give unlimited duration.
Helikites are the best type of tethered UAV. More than one
free-flying-UAV can be controlled from one Allsopp Helikites

The present Allsopp Helikites "Sky-Hook" is a very compact and
easy item to use in almost any weather by untrained personnel and can be
carried anywhere a soldier can go as it weighs only 14 Kg including the
helium. We also envisage much larger Helikites in the future. We have calculated
that they will be able to fly in winds up to 80 mph. They will still be
manageable by very few personnel.
Helikite Sky-Hook uses: Observation:
- Solar or battery powered day / night video, un-cooled thermal
imaging, image intensifiers. Present ceiling is 5000ft; future 50,000
ft. Present line of sight 550 miles; future thousands of miles.
Radar:
Data relay:
- Communications including intranet;
- UAV "below horizon" line-of-sight; directional or
non-directional radio signals;
- Ground or sea based RSV`s;
- Other radio based robots, munitions charges etc.
Radio jamming:
- Extremely powerful aerials up to 1000ft within minutes.
Mine detection:
- High level sensor lifting; magnetometers, infa-red, etc..
- Pulling low level sensors attached to trailers up difficult terrain
such as hillsides that are presently impassable to robots.
Propaganda:
- Lifting aerials for forces radio broadcasts etc
UK and US Patents Granted.
